Safeguarding Consultancy and Training
9th November 2024
Today marks a significant milestone in my professional journey as I officially launch my new venture into safeguarding consultancy and training, specialising in safeguarding leadership, and cultural transformation.
After many years of dedicated service within the education sector, I find myself standing at the crossroads of fear and excitement feelings I’m sure many of you can relate to when stepping into the unknown.
This move comes after successfully implementing a safeguarding culture that received commendation from Ofsted while working for one of the largest post-16 education settings in London. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, one that solidified my belief in the power of robust safeguarding practices and processes and the profound impact they can have on the lives of children, young people and adults. The challenges were immense, but the outcomes, safer environments, more confident staff, and most importantly, protected and empowered students was worth every moment of effort.
As I look back on those achievements, I realise that my passion for safeguarding and cultural transformation extends far beyond the walls of a single organisation. I am deeply committed to making a difference to organisations across the U.K, helping them to build and sustain environments where safeguarding is not just a policy but a lived, vibrant culture.
There’s no denying that venturing out on my own is a daunting prospect. The safety net of a permanent role is no longer there, and the responsibilities of steering my own destiny are vast. Yet, I believe the time is right. The challenges we face in safeguarding today are more complex and multifaceted than ever before, and I am eager to bring my experience, insight, and passion to a broader audience.
Through this new chapter, I aim to support organisations and people in transforming their safeguarding practices, ensuring they are not only compliant with UK legislation but are also truly effective in protecting those most vulnerable. My approach will be rooted in collaboration, working closely with leaders and staff to embed a culture of safety, excellence, and inclusivity.
So, while there’s a part of me that’s scared, who wouldn’t be? there’s a much larger part that is incredibly excited. Excited about the possibilities, about the new relationships and partnerships that will form, and most of all, about the impact we can collectively have on the lives of children, young people, adults and the professionals who support them.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to making a meaningful difference and changing lives together.
Bianca
